You can take part in the Red Bull Rubik’s Cube World Cup 2019 by signing up for one of the National Qualifiers held in multiple countries across the globe. Registration for the first qualifier events will start in July 2019, with new events being added throughout the season.
Starting July 2019, amateur and professional speedcubers from around the world will face each otherin the Qualifier Events from China, India, Mexico, Russia, Spain - battling for the chance to prove theirskills and progress to the next stage, the Red Bull Rubik’s Cube World Cup Finals, in Moscow,Russia, on the 17th of November, 2019.
The Red Bull Rubik’s Cube World Cup is open to anyone over the age of 16. Any further regional-specific restrictions will be communicated ahead of the local qualifiers.
Qualifiers will start July 2019 and continue through until November 2019, with the World Cup Finals taking place on November 17th, 2019.
Participating countries are: India, Russia, Spain, China, Mexico.
If, for whatever reason, qualifiers are not being held in your country, you can participate in the qualifiers held in other countries. Participants can attend every Red Bull Rubik’s Cube Qualifier Event regardless of their place of residence or citizenship.
Yes, you can attend multiple events in multiple countries and participate in different game modes. If you win a game mode, you cannot participate in further qualifications in the same mode.
The Red Bull Rubik’s Cube Cup will offer 3 Game Modes in a competitive 1vs1
Knockout-Bracket-System. In addition to the 3 Game Modes, there will be a Female track for the
Speed Cubing Game Mode.
Game Mode 1: Speed Cubing best of 5 – with 5 different scrambles: same scramble for both players
with inspection time; first player with three wins progresses to the next round.
Game Mode 2: Fastest Hand (One Handed) best of 3 – with 3 different scrambles: same scramble for
both players, no inspection time; first player with two wins progresses to the next round.
Game Mode 3: Re-Scramble best of 3 – with 3 different scrambles: participants get a solved Cube
and a scrambled Cube (same scramble for both players); first player able to reproduce the given
scramble wins.
That’s right. For each format, there will be one winner per country, those winners will then be sent to the World Final in Russia, where will be a World Champion for every game mode.
The events will feature a separate ’Female Speedcubing Track’, for the fastest female cube solvers. It’s identical to the 1 vs. 1 knockout system as in the mixed Speedcubing track.

The Red Bull Rubik’s World Cup is managed by Red Bull Mind Gamers independently of Rubik’s Brand Ltd. As a measure of legal transparency and compliance, Red Bull has acquired a license to use Rubik’s Intellectual Property in professional speed cubing.
WCA and Red Bull Mind Gamers have agreed on a partnership in which the WCA will be collaborating with the Red Bull Rubik’s Cube World Cup 2019 series. Within this collaboration, the WCA will offer its advisory assistance and will also have multiple joint competitions, in which the Red Bull competitions will be held before or after an official WCA competition, but on different days.
