You can take part in the Red Bull Rubik’s Cube World Championship by signing up for one of the National Qualifiers held in 16 countries across the globe. In larger countries, a series of Local Qualifiers is organised prior to the National Qualifiers. Registration for the first regional qualifier events will start in February 2018, with new events being added throughout the season: mindgamers.redbull.com/rubiks. In case there is no event hosted close to you, or you dont manage to attend an event, you can try to win your spot with the Rubik’s Cube Online Game, launching in spring 2018.

The Red Bull Rubik’s Cube World Championship is open to anyone over the age 16 and over. Any further regional-specific restrictions will be communicated ahead of the local qualifiers.
National tournaments will start February 2018 and continue through till July 2018, with the World Championship be taken place in September 2018.

If, for whatever reason, qualifiers are not being held in your country, there are multiple alternative opportunities to get involved, either by participating at the online Rubik’s Cube Game (which will hold Wildcard tickets for the World Finals) or by participating in qualifiers in other countries. Participants can attend every Red Bull Rubik’s Cube Qualifier Event regardless of their place of residence or citizenship.
Yes, you can attend multiple events in multiple countries and participate in different game modes. If you win a game mode, you cannot participate in further qualifications in the same mode.
The Red Bull Rubik’s Cube Championship will offer 3 Game Modes in a competitive 1vs1 Knockout-Bracket-System. In addition to the 3 Game Modes, there will be a Female track for the Speed Cubing Game Mode. Game Mode 1: Speed Cubing 3x3x3 Best of 5 – with 5 different scrambles Same scramble for both players With Inspection Time First player with three wins progresses to the next round Game Mode 2: Fastest Hand (One Handed) 3x3x3 Best of 3 – with 3 different scrambles Same scramble for both players No Inspection Time First player with two wins progresses to the next round Game Mode 3: Re-Scramble 3x3x3 Best of 3 – with 3 different scrambles Participants get a solved Cube and a scrambled Cube (Same scramble for both players) First player to be able to reproduce the given scramble wins.
That’s right. For each format, there will be one winner per country, those winners will then be sent to the World Final in Boston, USA, where will be a World Champion for every game mode.
The events will feature a separate ’Female Speedcubing Track’, for the fastest female cube solvers. It’s identical to the 1 vs. 1 knockout system as in the mixed Speedcubing track.
